I was drawn to the contrast between the bird’s delicate markings and the textured perch — a quiet study of balance, patience, and presence in nature.

To have this image selected for a printed international exhibition at the TULLA Culture Center in Tirana is a deeply meaningful milestone. Wildlife photography often relies on patience and timing — moments that pass in seconds. Seeing this fleeting encounter recognised and exhibited in physical form is both humbling and encouraging, reinforcing my commitment to capturing nature with care, intention, and respect.

This black and white portrait of Hanbury Hall explores contrast, structure, and atmosphere. By removing colour, the focus shifts to architectural detail — the symmetry of the façade, the strength of the roofline, and the interplay between shadow and light beneath a heavy sky. I was drawn to the quiet drama of the scene; the bare trees and muted tones lend a timeless quality, allowing the building’s character and history to take centre stage.

Having this image digitally featured at the exhibition in Barcelona is a meaningful recognition of my architectural work in monochrome. Black and white photography demands intention — every tonal decision shapes the mood and narrative. To see this interpretation of Hanbury Hall presented in an international exhibition setting is both encouraging and affirming, reinforcing my belief in the power of simplicity, contrast, and restraint.

Images like this rely on nuance rather than bold contrast — on restraint, balance, and atmosphere. To have that quiet approach acknowledged by an international platform with such a wide audience is both encouraging and affirming, and it strengthens my appreciation for simplicity in nature photography.
